Leslie J. Wilson, CPA

Leslie has been married to Jim since 1985. She lived in the Kansas City area until 1994 when she moved to Springfield, Missouri. The move has been a positive change for her and her family. She enjoys riding on her motorcycle and being involved with Lady Cruisers of the Ozarks, a local chapter of Women on Wheels. Watch out though, she also has her conceal and carry permit because she enjoys shooting her Kimber 9mm pistol. Sometimes she may relax and just take her horse along some trails or for a casual ride or if she feels like she needs to do some cooling off she may run to the lake and race around on some jet skis with family or friends. Yes, Leslie is very active and loves being active with friends and family. Recently, Jim and Leslie have moved back to the Kansas City area to be closer to family but will still continue to work with clients as needed from the new location.
She has two sons, Michael 24, and Christopher 23. Michael graduated Devry University College in KC with a Computer Science degree and got married to Cassy Clark in 2008. Michael is employed by H&R Block in their corporate office in KC as their computer security engineer, he also enjoys weight training and being buff, he plays the piano and guitar and drums and loves art. Chris, on the other hand, enjoys physical fitness. He recently got accepted to medical school where he will be working towards his doctorate of medicine in DesMoines Iowa. Christopher also was commissioned in the Army in January of 2011 so will be practicing medicine for the Army. He is married to Danielle Blakeslee, daughter of Reverend Blakeslee in Jan 2010..
Leslie graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. She passed the CPA exam in 1987. Leslie regularly attends CPE classes to stay current with the changing laws and regulations. She occasionally conducts special classes and seminars at local colleges. She counsels many churches and small businesses in QuickBooks and other accounting software programs. Ministers are her specialty. She works with hundreds of ministers and churches across the United States and missionaries around the World.

Jim Wilson
|

Jim is the firm administrator.
He has several years experience in the finance industry in addition to previously managing and owning other small businesses. Jim currently manages the behind the scenes activities such as marketing and public relations for the CPA firm. In addition, he is a licensed minister and manages the ministerial accounting side of the business. He also helps clients with small business startup, tax consulting, debt management and marketing.
Jim has a track record of successful business practices and growth results.
In 2010 Jim launched a new business called Wiltech, which is a computer application and data hosting service. The company is designed to help our accounting and bookkeeping clients better manage their accounting records and files in the cloud. While we will be hosting the QuickBooks program and MS products from the Internet we will have access to help clients with their accounting needs simultaneously from anywhere via the web.
He loves riding motorcycles, bicycles, jet skis, horses, shooting pistols, bowling, and photography. He also has a BS degree in Pastoral Studies and plays an active part in our local church.
Jim and Leslie are also certified with the Dave Ramsey Group as Debt Consulting coaches. We truly believe that a person can live within their means and still have financial freedom.

Kerry Koone, CPA

Kerry came to work with our firm in August 2004 after 3 years with BKD. He has been a CPA for over 8 years. Kerry and his wife, Debbie, are blessed with one daughter named Bethanie and another son named Justin just born in November 7th 2010.
Kerry works mainly with our corporations and business clients in tax and payroll.

Karen Blount
Karen Joined our team in August 2011 after she sent her daughter off to College at Rockhurst in Kansas City. Karen received her BS in accounting from SMSU. Karen will be wroking in our Tax and Payroll department. She brings with her many years of experience as a Master Tax professional and is also an Enrolled Agent with the IRS.

Sara Wilson, CPA

Sara joined our Team in August of 2002 as a tax and accounting intern. She was a student at Southwest Missouri State University and graduated in December 2005 with her masters degree in accounting.
She passed the CPA exam in November of 2006. In January 2006 she was promoted to a senior staff accountant. Sara has grown with our firm and is very proficient in bookkeeping, tax and payroll. She also assists our clients in QuickBooks consulting and training. Due to her hard work and dedication, Sara has recently, as of January 2012, been promoited to Manager of the firm.
She is actively involved with her local church. Joshua, her husband, is a printer technician and is furthering his education in computer science. Sara enjoys reading and gardening.
Just in case you were wondering, Sara is not related to Leslie or Jim but she fits in well as part of our team family.
Also, Sara has one son named David who is now 3 years old and a new daughter born in August of 2011 - Congratulations!!!!

Kristin Edwards
 Kristin joined our team in December of 2010. She recently graduated from MSU with her Masters in Accountancy. She also received her Bachelors degree from SBU in Bolivar, MO.
Kristin recently sat for and passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam on her first attempt and as of Jan 1st 2012 she met all her requirement to be an official licensed CPA. Kristin will be working specifically in our tax department dealing with small businesses, corporations, and training in the ministerial side with foreign missionaries.

Kathy Arnold
Kathy joined our team in January of 2010: She will be working in our ministerial department assisting our churches with bookkeeping and Payroll processing and miscellaneous other clerical work.
She retired from teaching in 2006 after 26 years. She came to us most recently from a large church doing clerical/bookkeeping work.
Kathy is married to Mick Arnold, Director of Graduate Studies in Education at SBU. They have two daughters, one son in law, and a very precious granddaughter and another new grandbaby on the way in a few months. Kathy enjoys playing piano, scrapbooking, antiquing, and playing with her grand baby!
